Hervé Digne joined Carmin Finance in 2013, bringing him extensive professional experience in the general management of a major Group (Hachette/Lagardère), public policy orientation (adviser to the Prime Minister), strategy consulting (Kurt Salmon), mergers and acquisitions (Postmedia Finance), specialised credit (Cofiloisirs) and as a company director (Dailymotion – UGC).
He has in-depth knowledge of the media, telecom and digital sectors.
He is President of the Forum d’Avignon (Culture, Media, Economy) and President of the Cercle de l’Odéon-Théâtre de l’Europe and of the Collection Lambert d’Avignon.
Previous background and referencesBorn in 1957 in Marseille, holder of a law degree from Paris I and a graduate of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques (IEP) in Paris, Hervé Digne joined the ENA in 1978. He then began his career in 1982 at the Ministry of Economy and Finance and quickly resigned from the civil service to join the Hachette Group (then Lagardère) in 1985. He held numerous general management and development positions for sixteen years, and was appointed Deputy Director of Hachette Filipacchi Presse in 1993. Committed to innovation and having already anticipated the digital potential, he created the group’s subsidiary dedicated to the Internet in 1994 and became Managing Director New Media and Licensing in 1995, one of the four divisions of Hachette Filipacchi Medias. In this position, he will notably found the Internet activities of the international group. Spotted by Arnaud Lagardère, now Managing Director of Lagardère Media, he became Lagardère Media’s deputy when he joined the group’s headquarters. At his side, he will be
active in the group’s investment in Canal Satellite and Multithématiques television channels, which it is helping to reposition.
He left the Lagardère Group in 2001 to join Geosat, a company created to invest in the world’s third largest satellite operator, Eutelsat. The creation in 2003 of Lascaminades, a company specialising in media consulting, and then Postmedia Finance in 2007, a media and digital consulting company, illustrate Hervé Digne’s vocation to combine financial and strategic expertise with a keen knowledge of the media sector. At the same time, he became Senior Advisor to Arthur D. Little, a strategy consulting firm and LongAcre partners, a British investment bank.In 2005, he joined Matignon as Media Advisor to Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin. He then became Senior Advisor to ABN AMRO and Neuflize OBC and Senior Partner to Kurt Salmon, an international strategy and management consulting firm.
President of Cofiloisirs since 2012, one of the two financial institutions specialising in film and television financing, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas, Neuflize OBC and UGC, Hervé Digne continues to work to promote the economy through culture.
In 2013, he joined Carmin Finance, a new financial player chaired by Nicolas Mérindol, as Vice-Chairman.
