In November 2014, Nicolas Mérindol created the new financial actor Carmin with the desire to give a new voice to the real economy, industry and services, thanks to the consulting banker’s proximity to his client.
Previous background and references
Born in 1961, a graduate of the Institut de Gestion (ISG), a chartered accountant, he began his career at the Renault Group’s Finance Department in France and Argentina from 1984 to 1987.
He then joined Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (CDC) and then joined the Caisses d’Epargne Group. After several years in the field at the Caisse d’épargne de Picardie, he became Chief Financial Officer at the national level in 1996, then Chief Executive Officer of the Caisses d’épargne Group in September 2006.
As the youngest CEO of a major international generalist bank, he is involved in the group’s development and modernisation both in terms of products (the first savings leader to remunerate the sustainable development account) and institutions with the 1999 law reforming the Caisses d’Epargne. In 2007, he launched the Caisse d’Épargne Group in a sustainable development program called “Bénéfices Futurs”, which aimed to rate all products according to three criteria: safety, responsibility and climate. He left the group in 2008 to join the Banca Leonardo group (lnvestment Bank) as a representative in France, and developed his consulting and support business for companies by taking stakes in recognised experts: Equitis (independent leader in trust in France) and Amilton Partners (shareholder of Amilton Asset Management, a reference in European listed small caps in particular). In 2014, he and his partners created the Carmin group. a new financial player, whose particularity of the Carmin group. a new financial player, whose particularity of the model is to focus on consulting banking, providing expert services to clients in which the Group takes stakes: BDO-SICIER. Audit firm, specialized in monitoring for institutional real estate investors; Delff, a debt fund management company; 4TPM, an IT solutions provider for banks; equityStories, a financial communication consultant. These are all high-level expertise in “niches” that make these companies recognized players in the market.
From December 2012 to December 2015, he was also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Constructa Asset Management, France’s leading independent asset management company. The company manages more than €7.3 billion in assets representing a surface area of 2 million m². It manages 170 buildings, including several defence towers.

Nicolas Mérindol was, from 2010 to 2014, a consular judge at the Bobigny Commercial Court.
As part of his responsibilities at Groupe Caisse d’Epargne, he led a unique sustainable development program aimed at rating all the group’s products according to three criteria: safety, responsibility and climate.

Since 2009, he has chaired AMREF Flying Doctors, Africa’s largest humanitarian health and medical research NGO, for France. He was appointed to the Steering Committee of the Africa France Foundation in July 2015 (Finance cluster, chaired by Gérard Mestrallet.
He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Foch Hospital.
